Maggie Moose's Critter Corner

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Maggie and I are blessed that on our walks we get to see a lot of different critters from the animal kingdom. We call this special place Critter Corner. It's not really a corner, but a vast section of land amongst suburbia. In the early am we are guaranteed the smell of Pepe Le Pew, the skunk of  Looney Tunes cartoons. Thankfully we never see the skunks, only smell them. We hear the song of the Red Robin, she sits atop a tall tree and sings her song everyday. The squirrels are like filler, they are everywhere. The squirrels enjoy taunting Maggie as she perks up and stares back challenging their taunts. It's a game Maggie and the squirrels play everyday. We know the tree the red-tailed hawk lives in. He or she is always too fast for me to take a photo of it in flight. The photo here is what it looks like when he is above us chasing his next prey. We call a lane we walk down Horse Lane. It leads to the stables close by. Maggie and I met a friendly Mr. Ed kind of horse one day when we were walking down Horse Lane. My favorite critter is the cotton tail rabbit. He always surprises us as he stands, sits, or lays down when we walk by. As soon as I tell Maggie to "stay" so I can take his photo, he hops off. We know the area where the Mourning Doves ( a pair) eat and live. They are always together. The white crane surprises us atop a tree or walking by in the tall grassy knolls. These critters have their own special territory. All of these creatures great and small, we have come to love them all!
