Last night MaggieMoose girl stayed home resting from her Friday big girls' day out. My daughter and I went to Cafe Borrone to celebrate a night out together.
Cafe Borrone has delicious European style food. One can eat indoors or outside on their patio. Since my girls were babies it's been our family tradition for us to eat here. As we walked in the New Orleans style jazz band Cafe Borrone All-Stars was setting up. We ordered our food at the counter and sat down. Soon the music started playing. Oh my, we felt like we were in New Orleans at Preservation Hall listening to the music. As we ate our food the energy of the music was infectious. Little toddlers were dancing to the beat. Outside the cafe doors on the patio an elderly couple was dancing swinging to the music. It was such a pleasure to watch their dance steps! The Cafe Borrone All-Stars jazz music was vibrating the building. We were all smilin' like Louis Armstrong, the legendary jazz trumpeter and singer from New Orleans, Louisiana. It was a great night out with my daughter reliving old memories and making new ones. By the way, today marks Louis Armstrong's birthday. Born on 8/4/1901. We are smilin' with you Satchmo! Happy Birthday! See ya in the Big Easy.
