MaggieMoose: Moments of Happiness

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"The moments of happiness we enjoy take us by surprise. It is not that we seize them, but that they seize us."

In the wee hours of the morning I let my girl outside. She comes back in and follows me down the hall. I turn around and look at her. Take me by surprise Maggie! I see a giant twig hanging out of her mouth that doesn't fit in the camera lens. Seize me now...
Moments of happiness!
Thank you Maggie!

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared."

MaggieMoose: Twig Enthusiasm & More

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"We're just enthusiastic about what we do."

Maggie and I are fueled by enthusiasm. A simple thing such as Maggie bringing a twig indoors sets our symbiotic creativity in motion. We like doing what we do; from writing fictional tails in her MaggieMooseTracks® book series, to photographing Maggie & Twigs for a coffee table size book or just giving out hugs & licks. We've accomplished many creative pursuits through our enthusiastic outlook in life during 2013; we wrote 3 books, had 1 book translated into Japanese, Maggie's photos were shown in an art show in New York City, our readers around the world doubled from 87 countries (2012) on 6 continents to 174 countries in 2013 and we started a line of MaggieMooseTracks® merchandise! Oh My Dog! Thank you friends & furriends around the world for all your love & support. It's amazing how many ways Maggie & I see how life is pawsable. Yes, we're enthusiastic about what we do. Our hope is that we can continue to pass the spark of enthusiasm with you, one twig at a time. Sharing the love. WOOF! WOOF!

Living life with moose size pawsabilities around the world!

MaggieMoose: A Balanced Art Of Rose & Twig

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"What I dream of is an art of balance, of purity and serenity... a soothing, calming influence on my mind, rather like a good armchair which provides relaxation...

Art is our life. Maggie and I like to start our day off with a nice calm walk. We like to see the flowers in bloom, hear the birds chirp and maybe greet some humans along the way. This world of living art in three dimensions feeds our soul. The best part for Maggie is when we're back home and she can run outside in the yard, mill about the tree debri on the ground and select just the right twig. It's a Zen like thing for her to do. Peace and calm come across her face as she holds her twig for those brief moments...before I pay her with a treat to release it! Then Maggie plops in her cozy bed like a good armchair and enters into her state of total relaxation. Zzzs.

MaggieMoose: A Day Well Spent

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"A well-spent day brings happy sleep."

Yesterday was Mother's Day. Maggie and I went on our morning walk. We saw pink roses and a very bright and cheerful yellow rose. Perfect for a Mother's day. We rather see flowers growing than get flowers. Well, I stand corrected, Maggie rather sniff flowers on her walk than get flowers. The morning was as sunny and bright as the yellow rose. The whole day Maggie was like velcro. She must have known it was Mother's day. I was doing a little of this and that in between Mother's day phone calls, texts or Facebook posts and so forth. There was Maggie as my four pawed shadow. By the end of Mother's day Maggie was spent! I think my best Mother's day gift came when Maggie ran outside to collect the biggest twig she could find. Of course I accepted my Mother's day gift from her with glee. After all, who needs flowers when you can get twigs from a moose full of love? We slept great after our Mother's day well spent.

MaggieMoose Awards: And The Twig Goes To.....

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life and the world."

Maggie had a very busy 2012 holiday schedule. Her appointment book was filled to the tallest twig with friends and relatives. As her scribe, I wrote down all the names & dates of the special people who nominated MaggieMooseTracks.wordpress.com for various blogging awards. Many nominations came at the end of the year. What Christmas presents! Many WOOF WOOFs to our community of blogging pawsability believers for all nominations. I, as Maggie's scribe want to say the dog ate the homework, but I can't blame Maggie for my own foibles. On accident, I threw out the paper listing those folks I had kept to thank after our holiday company was gone. Meanwhile, January 2013 started out with another nomination: The Addictive Blog Award from Bella Remy Photography's Hoof Beats and Foot Prints.

Maggie went outside to search for the perfect twig to present as a thank-you gift to Bella Remy Photography (and symbolically to others). Once she settled on her chosen twig it was up to me to transcribe her thoughts. Where to start? My first thought was where did I place my list of gratitude? Maggie reminded me to acknowledge it and move on.... OK Maggie. Gratitude really does bestow reverence to Maggie and me. It is overwhelming to think that we started as one little twig, not yet a year ago. Branch by branch our blogging world has grown and is growing. We are filled with many transcendent moments of awe to those peers in the blogging world that reward us. Receiving awards for time spent sharing Maggie Moose's moose size pawsabilities to the world is inspirational. We hope that those bloggers whose names were on the list the dog didn't eat will forgive me for losing it. Maggie and I both so appreciate your kudos. Our heartfelt thanks to you all. We are forever changed. WOOF WOOF

One Leaf, Two Leaf, Three Leaf, Twig!

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain."

Where's the twig?

People that know Maggie knows she loves a good twig or two. It's a perfect delicacy for a moose kind of girl. For me, trying to find the twig in the a carpet of leaves is like asking me to find Waldo in a kid's book. Not for Maggie, she takes an insect view of the leaves and BOOM-there's the twig! I find that in the autumn landscape sometimes things just kind of blend together. That's when I need to remind myself to be like Maggie, pretend I'm a macro lens and look closer. There is so much to see upon closer inspection. Maggie, thanks for the tip!
