MaggieMoose: Counting Crows

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous."

 One crow on a pine tree limb. We stopped our walk on the overcast morning to just stare at this marvelous bird. Maggie and I decided to count crows.

Sure enough then there were two crows.

And finally threes crows on the pine branch.

Maggie and I know how difficult it is to photograph the crows in our neighborhood. These birds are like squirrels, as soon as you hit click on the camera they're gone in flight or up a tree-far away. We felt privileged to get our counting crow photos. After the third crow showed up we decided to take our crow magic with us and call it a photo shoot. Funny thing is the next day we didn't see one crow on our overcast morning walk. No where was there a crow. We saw Robin birds hopping about and other smaller birds, but no crows. Lucky us, we witnessed something of the marvelous in nature when we counted crows.

MaggieMoose: A Circle Of Friends That Never Ends...

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
 ~~~~~~~~~~
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends.....
  I played for Maggie the song Colors of the Wind sung by Judy Kuhn from the classic Disney movie Pocahontas. It reminded us of our new children's book MaggieMooseTracks® MakingFriends (age 6 up) now on Kindle. (PS. Adults like it too!) In our book, we wanted to share the theme of appreciating individuality, nature, and that we are all connected in a circle of friendship that never ends. Our story tells of a fictionalized Maggie, a puppy with moose antlers, who meets some interesting animals and kids on her adventure to finding her own family. Maggie and I hope that our circle of friends will tell their circle of friends about our new book with its important messages. We've painted the beauty and wonder of the colors of friendship in our fully colored, illustrated chapter book.
The paperback edition of MaggieMooseTracks® MakingFriends will be available anytime from 2-3 hours or 5-7 days on Amazon.com. We'll post updates on our website when we have the link! Your reviews on Amazon.com will help make our 1st book a huge success. Would you please share the book news and write a review? We thank you in advance for helping us connect globally in friendship through our heartfelt, yet adventurous romp in MaggieMooseTracks® MakingFriends
One Leaf, Two Leaf, Three Leaf, Twig!
Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain."
Where's the twig?
  People that know Maggie knows she loves a good twig or two. It's a perfect delicacy for a moose kind of girl. For me, trying to find the twig in the a carpet of leaves is like asking me to find Waldo in a kid's book. Not for Maggie, she takes an insect view of the leaves and BOOM-there's the twig! I find that in the autumn landscape sometimes things just kind of blend together. That's when I need to remind myself to be like Maggie, pretend I'm a macro lens and look closer. There is so much to see upon closer inspection. Maggie, thanks for the tip!
MaggieMoose Is Ready: 2012 US Open Tennis
Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Teach a child to play solitaire, and she'll be able to entertain herself when there's no one around. Teach her tennis, and she'll know what to do when she's on a court. But raise her to feel comfortable in nature, and the whole planet is her home."
Maggie is ready for US Open
  Maggie eats, sleeps, and breathes tennis ball. She likes to think she's a tennis ball star. You can bet your tennis balls she'll be watching the 2012 US Open tennis this weekend. That is in between roaming the woods, mingling with the humans, and amusing herself with her toys. All playfulness aside, Maggie is dead serious about the "tennis ball". She can toss it, catch it, carry it around, and fall asleep with it in her mouth. Not an easy feat. All this takes practice for Maggie to have a balanced life. She also appreciates all the dedication the tennis players in this weekend's  2012 US Open tennis have devoted to their sport. Maggie's a spectator. Enjoyment is her middle name. Those sparkly, clean new tennis balls look mighty good to her too. Maybe a career as a ball girl at the net is a pawsability?
Special dedication to UJ, tennis devotee! Woof Woof
