Eureka! Organic Street Art

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"The purpose of art is washing the dust of daily life off of our souls."

Maggie's fully focused look

This weekend when we walked the rain filled mornings we came across some street art. We saw multiple leaf prints printed on the sidewalk like silk screened images. Maggie stopped in front of one leaf print as if she "found it". The great art discoverer Maggie! Except it wasn't a human artist, but Mother Nature herself. We were like Sherlock Holmes with our heads down when we continued along the sidewalk. Maybe we discovered nature's gold on the ground? We admired different leaf shapes imprinted on the cement. The other part of ourselves enjoyed the colorful 3D leaves scattered everywhere in between the clumps of pine needles bunched up. Wind and rain plumetted our neighborhood over the weekend. Our surroundings were washed clean of any dust, just like our souls were refreshed and renewed when we discovered the organic street art.

Eureka!

One Leaf, Two Leaf, Three Leaf, Twig!

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Nature will bear the closest inspection. She invites us to lay our eye level with her smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain."

Where's the twig?

People that know Maggie knows she loves a good twig or two. It's a perfect delicacy for a moose kind of girl. For me, trying to find the twig in the a carpet of leaves is like asking me to find Waldo in a kid's book. Not for Maggie, she takes an insect view of the leaves and BOOM-there's the twig! I find that in the autumn landscape sometimes things just kind of blend together. That's when I need to remind myself to be like Maggie, pretend I'm a macro lens and look closer. There is so much to see upon closer inspection. Maggie, thanks for the tip!

Raining Leaves of Fun

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
I still get wildly enthusiastic about little things.... I play with leaves. I skip down the street and run against the wind.

Maggie

The more the leaves fall, the happier Maggie gets. It's her smorgasbord. Enthusiasm becomes her middle name as she belts outside with joyful anticipation of another batch of new leaves. I might not get crazy about the leaves (Hello, I have to pick them up), but her joy is infectious. So, I start kicking those leaves around pretending they're mini soccer balls. Together we smile running against the wind. I love the wind. It's electric. I'm reminded it's the wind I love that feeds Maggie's thirst for leaves. Our loves are symbiotic. We spell this joy of life: F-U-N!

PS. Confession: Enthusiasm is my middle name too!
