We have a lot of dogs in the neighborhood. If they're not walking, they're riding in cars like Maggie. One buff fellow canine species caught Maggie's eye the other day coming home from the park. We happened to be driving in the same direction. Valentine's Day is next week. Maggie's thoughts of thump thump I'm in love have been vibrating in her pea pickin' heart. I think she's on the prowl. Watch out neighbor dog, my girl Maggie's a ton of loving. Meanwhile, the neighbor dog in front of us caught a glimpse of Maggie. STARE. What is it-the 5 second stare sounds off the alert of interest in the game of attraction? Neighbor dog broke his stare and turned away.... Oh no, maybe he's not interested?
Maggie thinks he was playing his cards close to his harness. Like hang loose, surfs up and all that jazz. He is after all a California dude dog. We continued on what seemed like miles. Wow, neighbor dog really is a neighbor. We were stopped at the light when Maggie and I noticed the car's turn signal was on. I told Maggie hey, tell him come up and and see my sometime like the actress Mae West-with your feminine authority. Maggie agreed. WOOF WOOF. He looked back. Maggie responded See ya around; debonair and devastating, so much easier to love thy neighbor....
