MaggieMoose: I Feel Pretty!

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Change your thoughts and you change your world."

Maggie and I find that music can change our moods. We heard a great tune this morning and WOW frustration melted away. We're missing writing our daily blogs, but due to our new blog & website configuration- we're stumped. Back to the drawing board this weekend.... We were listening to Dave Grusin's "I Feel Pretty". Marvelous. Happy! Happy! Happy! We can now climb Mt. Everest, which for us his our new website: MaggieMooseTracks.com. So, maybe this blog post doesn't look so pretty as we'd like, but we feel PRETTY! WOOF WOOF

MaggieMoose: Carmel Tails & A Slice Of Heaven

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Nothing but heaven itself is better than a friend who is really a friend."

In Carmel, we entered the Church of the Wayfarer through their meditation garden. This is really called The Master's Garden. My friend wanted to come here to spend some quite time with her mom. Her mom's commemorative brick is laid in their garden court area. Everyone is welcome here, including people's best friend the dog. I told Maggie I'd bring her here next Carmel visit.

Outside the church building was a copy of the original Thomas Kincade painting. He was the artist who was well known for his cozy cottage paintings. There is also a Thomas Kincade gallery in Carmel.

After spending some reflective time in the garden we ventured inside the church. Unknown to us, heaven awaited. Beautiful music was played in rehearsal time. We felt like we had a private concert just for us. Maggie would've loved the soothing & ethereal music we heard.

My friend, like me, spent many earlier years in Carmel with loved ones. Her mother's brick laid in the sunshine on our beautiful Carmel day. I dedicate this Carmel tail to my friend and her mom.

My dad's favorite plant; hens & chickens also flourished in the meditation garden. I know he'd like these prize sized beauties in our garden of yesteryear. So with that I dedicate this Carmel tail to him too.

It's a dog's life in Carmel. Dogs can share in your day no matter where you go, even to walk down memory lane. Maggie, my best friend is better than heaven itself while I'm on earth. Off to the beach.....

MaggieMoose: April Breeze Of Love

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"The very thought of you makes my heart sing
Like an April breeze on the wings of spring,
And you appear in all your splendor,
My one and only love."

Cup of Tunes With Maggie

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"I was born with music inside me. Music was one of my parts. Like my ribs, my kidneys, my liver, my heart. Like my blood. It was a force already within me when I arrived on the scene. It was a necessity for me-like food or water." Ray Charles

First things first, the coffee goes on, and then the music plays. We listen to our local jazz station JAZZ 91.1 KCSM each morning we arise. This public FM radio station fills our soul with eclectic jazz. We appreciate the notes we hear as the piano keys softly play their chords. A cup of tunes matches perfectly with Maggie and Shirley Horn as she sings A Time For Love. In one hand my Hawaiian hazelnut cup of coffee. On my other side my coffee & cream colored dog Maggie. She likes the soothing sounds of our cup of tunes ritual. It fuels us for our day. A saxophone or trumpet's melody sings through our veins as we wake up and start vibrating. Maggie laying beside me chewing on her toy while I tap the keyboard of my laptop. Music is part of our circulatory system. It gets our hearts pumping. A pure necessity to start our day with a cup of jazzy java tunes we love with all our hearts.
