MaggieMoose: Fresh Air Pawsabilities

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
Anyone's life truly lived consists of work, sunshine, exercise, soap, plenty of fresh air, and a happy contented spirit.

Maggie

For awhile now, Maggie and I have been off the social media grid. We've taken time for ourselves to get healthier, happier, and to put some fresh air into our life perspective.

Last year my daughter told me she was getting married. This was the scary catalyst for my getting fit, strong and into shape! It impacted Maggie too for she's in better physical shape. In the summer of 2015', I started Crossfit. It's changed my life and Maggie's. I gave myself one year to reach my dress size goal. In 9 months I succeeded! I did this by eating the Paleo diet and by exercising at Amity Crossfit 3 times a week. Within the 9 months, I lost 5 dress sizes!

Today I have more energy. I've met a ton of new friends working out. Now Maggie and I can run together instead of just walking. I'm not an expert runner. I work at putting one foot in front of the other-baby steps. As Maggie stands on the grass waiting for me to get going, I see a smile on her face. OK Maggie, let's run! 400 meter warm up...

Fresh air changed our life perspective. Who would've thought a mother of grown kids (who are out of the nest) could succeed at Crossfit? And change both inside & out? Maggie knew I could do it. After all, she's all about pawsabilities! WOOF WOOF

MaggieMoose: Be My Friend Happy

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"The most important thing is to enjoy your life - to be happy - it's all that matters."

1st morning with Maggie & Huckleberrie 'Flint' (13 week old male Siberian kitten)

We've had a busy time with Maggie's new kitty 'Flint'. Maggie LOVES him. Flint isn't so sure about the in your face 'let's be besties' approach. There are lots of first here. Last night someone had to be the sandwich middle....

Today after eating their first breakfast together they both took the same Sunday morning position....

We all getting use to each other. It reminds me of bringing two newborns home at the same time; busy, busier and busiest! All three ingredients for being happy. We're enjoying each other so far, but hey, where's my snooze?

*Flint kitty came from Cindy of Two Comrades Siberians Cattery of California.

Baby's Got New Moose Antlers

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present."

Maggie's new moose antlers!

Yesterday Maggie went to pick up her human sibling and go to her favorite place, the Unleashed store by Petco. It's Maggie's neighborhood pet store. She was in heaven. Spoiled! She received treats and got to sniff all around. Talk about Curious George, Maggie wanted to see and smell everything. She was happy, happy, happy. The store had been rearranged since we were last there. Now they have a self serve pet grooming center. People can bring their pets to bath and dry them off. Shampoo provided.  Maggie thought that was a great idea. Meanwhile, she ventured about and found some new moose antlers with a chin strap. Maggie  looked good as herself; MaggieMoose. The joy didn't stop there. Maggie discovered the Barkery (bakery for dogs). Sniff. Sniff. More sniffs. Maggie couldn't have designed a happier ending for her day than spending time in her favorite pet store: Unleashed. She ate treats, got spoiled by Dana, the employee, and brought home new moose antlers. Looking good there Maggie!

Today Is The Day

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it."

Maggie rockin' her new summer cut!

On Saturday Maggie got a new summer cut. Her first. When I picked her up and saw how beautiful she looked with her summer cut I was besides myself with glee. The owner Jimmy, of Raul's Grooming Center, told me "....your dog Maggie is the most loving dog. She's so full of love! She's so happy." Groucho Marx is right, we all have a choice for happiness each day no matter what circumstances we face. I believe Maggie chooses to be happy the moment she wakes up. It puts a smile on my face too.

Red Robin's Bobbin'

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
When the red, red robin comes
Bob, bob bobbin' along, along,
There'll be no more sobbin' when
He starts throbbin' his old, sweet song.
Wake up, wake up, you sleepy head;
Get up, get up, get out of bed.

Wake up! Get up! Maggie and I were up and out of the house early this morning for our walk. Cool air was all around us with the sun slowly rising for peaks of light. As we rounded the walk up hearing different birds singing in the trees we looked up and there was a Red Robin high up in the tree. It reminded me of the positive and happy jingle "....when the red robin comes bob bob bobbin' along.... wake up wake up you sleepy head....We smiled as we went inside happy for this beautiful, almost spring day!
