MaggieMoose: Carmel Tails of A Dog's World

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined."

We were at Carmel by the Sea checking out this quaint community for its 'dog friendly' nature. For me personally, it brought back a ton of childhood memories of playing on these beaches with family and friends. But, back to my current mission of 'would I take Maggie here'.... I could make a quilt of all the dog photos I took that day. Like Monterey, the shops in town have bowls of water outside their doors for dogs walking by needing a drink. Boy, Maggie likes to drink a lot of water. We might need to carry some extra water to refill their bowls. We saw a wonderful sign in the window of a dog and a frisbee. The beaches of Carmel are the perfect frisbee throwing turf.

We walked in the Carmel Forecast shop where there are a plethora of souvenirs. It is the perfect tourist store. I contributed to the economy of Carmel. I bought beautiful coffee cups, a refrigerator magnet and a hot pink fleece jacket that says 'Carmel'. I love being a tourist. I know Maggie's going to love the hot pink fleece. In this shop we met Skippy and his owners.

Skippy is a 14 year old dog cruising in style with his stroller. He had everything he needed in this RV on wheels. GO SENIORS! Skippy is proof there's no reason to keep your Senior dog at home. Maggie liked that Skippy represented the more mature group of dogs. One look in Skippy's eyes and Maggie rolled over on the ground-in love. Skippy's a role model for the younger set, because he's going confidently in the direction of his dreams. Skippy's living the life he imagined; a life of forever going out and about with his faithful human family.

MaggieMoose: Monterey Tails of Welcome

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"A smile is the universal welcome."

There were plenty of welcoming faces of all kinds everywhere we went in Monterey, CA. We spent time milling about the wharf on our beautiful day there. MOM also called out to us. That's the Museum of Monterey. It was a big fat DREAM smile of a welcome.  Maggie's all about the artwork. I knew I had to bring back a portrait of her dear mum (that's me). Next roadtrip Maggie goes under the California Dreamin' for her own photo shoot. Maggie's photos always show her best subtle smiles. Her portrait should be a 'twig free' one. I didn't see any twigs around. The place is too clean, not like our yard.

More than dreams, there were plenty of colorful murals. I'd say a little something for everyone. Maggie's like a kid with a box of crayons. Life is better in color. She liked all the images in the mural. When we looked at the image on our iPad it was kinda of like playing 'Where's Waldo' together. OK Maggie, find the .......

Mostly, Maggie wanted to know about the dogs! I told her to settle down, I'm coming to that. She asked 'dog friendly'? My answer was yes, yes, and more yes' than you can count. On the Monterey Wharf we saw dogs everywhere in all sizes. It wasn't unusual to see visitors coming up to other visitors to pet their dogs.

 Mykah getting some lovin'

Choco chillin'

No worries about the four pawed dogs being thirsty. All this cutie Choco had to do was walk up to any shop on the wharf and get a drink. We saw bowls of water on the ground for dogs everywhere. Offer a guest a drink of water, how much more welcoming can you get? Maggie's all smiles. Her twig is packed and she's ready to go take a cool, refreshing drink on the Monterey Wharf.

MaggieMoose: Monterey Tails Sublime

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"There is something sublime about its aloofness from and its indifference to its external environment."
