MaggieMoose: Summer Fling

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Mysterious love, uncertain treasure, hast thou more of pain or pleasure! Endless torments dwell about thee; Yet who would live, and live without thee!

My phone rang. I started chatting with a friend. Of course, Maggie requests to go outside when I'm on the phone. She predictably does this only when this one friend calls. Maybe I talk too long? In stealth motion she's back inside with a twig in her mouth. The difference with this twig is that Maggie has been in a summer induced twig drought. To those who know Maggie, they know she LOVES TWIGS. I have many, many photos of her with her favorite twigs-coffee table material. The origin of the word moose is loosely translated into 'twig eater'. Hence, MaggieMoose. This one twig is likened to a summer fling for Maggie, after all who would live without thee!

MaggieMoose: Mooseketeer Paws of Imagination

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do."

Imagination rocks. When Maggie and I take our walks we look for magic around us. We came upon the Mickey Mouse mushroom. We were filled with excitement! We thought to ourselves how cool is this? Thanks Walt Disney for filling our lives and others with a timeless curiosity in all things most interesting and fabulous.

MaggieMoose: New York! New York! Show Time!

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"For centuries, New York has served as the gateway for millions of people from all over the world in search of the American dream...."

July 25th. Tonight is the night, Maggie's photos will be on display at the Angel Orensanz Foundation for Contemporary Art in New York City for its Opening Reception of The Story of the Creative. Maggie and I are humbled and appreciative we were invited to participate in this incredible international art exhibition that runs through September 10th in NYC.  We are living the American dream- all the way from the San Francisco bay area. Since we aren't able to attend in person Maggie thought she'd hop on up on the art poster for the exhibit. New York City's international gateway can add one English Springer Spaniel dog to their list of millions of people from around the world in search of the American dream. MaggieMoose is in town for 6 weeks! We thank the See.Me community for selecting us. WOOF WOOF!
For our Twitter followers tonight's exhibition can be followed @seemecommunity #SOTC2013

MaggieMoose: A Muse Yourself

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Living creatively is really important to maintain throughout your life. And living creatively doesn't mean only artistic creativity, although that's part of it. It means being yourself, not just complying with the wishes of other people."

My muse is Maggie. She's always just herself. Complying with my wishes might get my sweet dog a treat or two, but she maintains her individuality. In our home creativity is the juice that keeps us humming along, singing our song. Each day brings new bolts of creativity. They usually start with a WOOF WOOF. When we entered the blogging world many others suggested we do this kind of blog or we do that kind of blog. Maggie insisted we follow our own creative path. I agreed to walk along side her in the decision making for all our creative choices. When we went to write a children's book that would touch children's and adult's hearts we found many rules created by others. These rules stymied us for a bit. We decided to follow our own creative guidelines and wrote the book MaggieMooseTracks® Making Friends the way we wanted with not only a message, but lots of color inside & out!

When Maggie and I came across an online art website called See.Me we were amazed by the creativity we saw in the artwork submitted. It was like candy. Sweet! Many of these artists online are requesting supporters for their artwork. Our goal wasn't to get supporters, but to share photos of Maggie and nature. We felt we had something to share. Poof! A few of our photos were selected to be in an International Art Exhibition in NYC called The Story of the Creative! It opens this week on July 25, 2013. Our photos are under the name MaggieMooseTracks® (Mari & Maggie). I owe it all to Maggie, my muse who is just herself no matter what. Best advise for us is to follow our own path of creativity. It's how we live creatively.

The Story of the Creative, is an exhibition featuring artists from around the world. The work will go on view starting July 25th at the See | Me Exhibition Space in New York City.

MaggieMoose: Heart of Gold

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures."

Maggie and I saw the dog in the window. Not just any window, but the window of a very nice jewelry store called Erin Mac jewelry. This store sells beautifully custom designed pieces of jewelry. We noticed the dog in the window matched the color of the carpet. Maggie and I gazed at the dog. We think this dog has a heart of gold! His eyes showed their sparkle through his subtle gaze at us. Our hearts felt alive in those brief moments of gazing at the jewelry store dog-he or she was the real treasure in the window.

MaggieMoose: Bye Bye Hello Kitty

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Right now, any opinion anyone has about whether dogs can or cannot really tell when their owner is coming home by some unknown means...nobody knows. The weight of evidence suggests they can."

Today is my last day in San Diego. I've missed Maggie's hugs & licks with her daily let's go walking insistence. Last night I said farewell to the Hello Kitty truck. Maggie loves pink & kitty kats. She'd like that pink, but we'll both say hello to Japan next month when we introduce our MaggieMooseTracks® Making Friends book in Japanese (August 2013). Until then I'm wondering if Maggie knows that today is the day I return? I've received a report she's holding her spot on the bed where she goes when we're chilling together watching the tele or reading.

When I looked out my hotel window early this morning I saw a U. S. Navy ship coming into port underneath the Coronado bridge. Many years ago I lived in Coronado when my father was stationed in San Diego for the U. S. Navy. As I fly back up to Northern CA, I'll leave my San Diego memories behind me. Maggie and I have our own tails to share with the world through our MaggieMooseTracks® WOOF WOOF greetings. I sense Maggie's wiggle butt is wiggling today knowing I'm on my way back home....be there soon girl!

MaggieMoose: Siblings & Sushi

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"My siblings are my best friends."
It's clear that while I'm out of town on business Maggie is roughing it back home while the human siblings 'dog sit' her. I might be missing Maggie, but I think she's living the life. A trip to our favorite haunt Sushi House in Palo Alto was just one of her outings. Today, I'm sure she'll be sleeping in...that's what siblings do-sleep late. Maggie will be well rested for today's adventures with her BFF (best friends forever) siblings.

MaggieMoose: Universal Sky Dreams

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Look at the sky. We are not alone. The whole universe is friendly to us and conspires only to give the best to those who dream and work."

At the stop light we looked up at the sky. WOW! The sky was full of beautiful puffy clouds. Magnificent. I told Maggie it's a reminder the sky's the limit! As we went along we thought about how we had a dream to write a kid's book, but we wanted adults to enjoy it too-POOF! Our book MaggieMooseTracks® Making Friends was written, published and is for sale on Amazon and at a local bookstore called East West. We wanted an interactive bookmark to go with our book. We envisioned a colorful glossy front and a matte back that kids or adults could color in a couple characters from the book; Maggie & Flint-and it was created.

I can't remember when, but Maggie and I entered photos of her in an online art gallery called See | Me. Then poof out of the sky we were invited to show a few of Maggie's photos in an International Art Exhibition in NYC (New York City, NY) that opens July 25, 2013. The exhibition runs through September 10th and is called The Story of the Creative

Meanwhile, our book MaggieMooseTracks® Making Friends is getting translated into Japanese and due for release sometime in August 2013. MaggieMooseTracks® Book 2 of the book series  (a Christmas theme) is in the works for release in September 2013. We didn't stop there for we created our own global beach ball too! The sky really is friendly and the universe does really give the best to those who dream and work. Hugs & Licks! WOOF WOOF

MaggieMoose: Counting Crows

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous."

One crow on a pine tree limb. We stopped our walk on the overcast morning to just stare at this marvelous bird. Maggie and I decided to count crows.

Sure enough then there were two crows.

And finally threes crows on the pine branch.

Maggie and I know how difficult it is to photograph the crows in our neighborhood. These birds are like squirrels, as soon as you hit click on the camera they're gone in flight or up a tree-far away. We felt privileged to get our counting crow photos. After the third crow showed up we decided to take our crow magic with us and call it a photo shoot. Funny thing is the next day we didn't see one crow on our overcast morning walk. No where was there a crow. We saw Robin birds hopping about and other smaller birds, but no crows. Lucky us, we witnessed something of the marvelous in nature when we counted crows.

MaggieMoose: Modelling Moose Gives Back

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
 "I believe in giving back."

Maggie will do whatever it takes to help others, like modelling for charity. Stay cool this summer with a MaggieMooseTracks® tshirt that benefits The English Springer Spaniel Rescue of America (ESRA). Adoption, fostering, healthcare and Senior dog help is for Maggie's breed, the lovable, loyal and fun English Springer Spaniels! Maggie doesn't make any money on the sale of the t-shirts, but the rescue gets $5 per t-shirt (or sweatshirt) sold. The link for the t-shirts is located under the DONATE tab on our website: www.MaggieMooseTracks.com. We too believe in giving back. Stay cool & look cool with a MaggieMooseTracks® tshirt WOOF WOOF!

Sort of a wordless Wednesday blog hop...

MaggieMoose: Holy Ancient Rome! Where's Our Toga?

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"Like a welcome summer rain, humor may suddenly cleanse and cool the earth, the air and you."

Maggie and I walked our usual morning walkabout. Our eyes caught sight of the local fire hydrant. Holy Ancient Rome! The fire hydrant was wearing a toga! I looked at Maggie and we both agreed we're not having enough fun if the fire hydrant goes to a toga party and we don't! Lately we've been working our bee-hinds off without enough fun hours in the mix. Although Italy has been on our minds... But, our @MaggieMooseTrks Twitter friends probably think we're MIA from Twittersphere. After all, girls gotta tweet! We either have to go toga shopping or just start wearing our sense of humor to lighten up. Maggie decided to sleep on it and wear her cozy bed instead while I work out the details. Thanks Maggie.

In hindsight, we don't feel so bad, because it looked like another fire hydrant didn't get the toga party memo either. Maybe this hydrant might need a cleansing summer rain full of humor to join in the fun party of life? Or start tweeting with some fun friends in Twittersphere... WOOF WOOF

MaggieMoose: Art of Self On Display World

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance."

Maggie's about to hit the art world in New York City on opening night July 25, 2013. Three  photos of Maggie will be on display in the International Exhibition of THE STORY OF THE CREATIVE. This show runs for seven weeks from July 25-September 10th. If you're in NYC please come see Maggie. We are humbly appreciative her photos were chosen. At the moment we don't know which three photos will be displayed. The inward significance of Maggie is the most important gift to the international art world. I think Maggie's eyes will draw people into her soul of love. Hugs & Licks, WOOF WOOF!

MaggieMoose: Screams of Thanks, Gratitude & Wonder

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder."

Maggie and I are inspired by nature. We feel blessed to live in a somewhat cosmopolitan area yet we are surrounded by wildlife. On July 4th we realized there's a Red-Tailed hawk nest in the pine tree in front of our yard. Early in the morning we heard the screeches and screams while we watched the flapping of its wings through the pine needles. Our camera was just shy of capturing the bird's image in detail. Our zoom lens couldn't quite make that awesome catch. Much like a fish story...it just got away.... We snapped the bird's silhouette hidden behind the pine needles. Then we played Find Waldo with our photos. We found it! WOOF! WOOF! Maggie and I were filled with awe and gratitude. Today when we stepped outside in the wee hours it was a repeat of wonder. This time the bird was closer in the trees to the west of our vision. Our camera was tucked away inside, but we were still grateful for the experience of observing this magnificent bird of prey as it made its rounds.

MaggieMoose: Fantasy Brain Cell Wake Up

Maggie's pawsability thought for the day:
"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it's a way of looking at life through the wrong end of the telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life's realities."

Click Maggie's book title. Her book is full of enough fun fantasy to wake up the brain cells!
